WoW Shaman Professions
Blizzard tried to even out the professions with Wrath of the Lich King, as many players always switched to the most effective profession that gave the best buffs to their group or raid. To prevent this from happening again most professions were evened out to provide very similar benefits with only small differences.
Jewelcrafters for example are able to cut unique, epic gems. Up to three of these can be socketed into their gear, making it easier to reach socket and meta requirements while providing a massive stat boost.
Weapon- and Armorsmiths are able to add additional sockets to their gloves and bracers, giving them additional stats with the right gems socketed into these sockets. Enchanters are able to improve their rings with special enchants, just like they were able to in Burning Crusade. Leatherworkers, a typical Shaman profession, can imbue their bracers with a special fur lining, giving them additional stats depending on the fur lining used. It replaces the normal bracer enchant and is much cheaper.
Scribes are able to craft special shoulder enchants, so they do not have to grind their reputation with the Sons of Hodir, as their special shoulder enchant is more powerful.
Tailors and Engineers are slightly left out. While Tailors are able to sew special embroideries into their cloaks those are less powerful than the normal enchants. The so called tinkers of engineers are fun gimmicks, with little actual use for a raiding Shaman.
